A debit order is an arrangement whereby you give a company permission to regularly debit (collect money from) your account, for example to pay a cell phone contract or car repayments for a lease. The amount may vary each month and the debit order lasts as long as there is a contract between you and the company collecting such money from your account. Debit orders can only be used if the service provider is authorised by the banking industry to use a debit order system.
